JJC's new and improved police station is located on the southwest side of campus in G- Building, just south of the Fitness Center. The Police Dispatch Center is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergencies and non- emergencies.

Chief's Message

I would like to welcome you and thank you for taking the time to visit the Joliet Junior College Police Department's (JJCPD) webpage. JJCPD is committed to fostering a safe environment that promotes student success. This webpage is part of our continuing commitment to the safety of our students, staff, faculty and community. We hope that you will find it to be a useful and informative resource not only about the department, but also for a wide range of topics that relate to safety both on and off campus.

Our motto "Service – Pride – Respect" means that we take pride in providing professional, high quality service while enforcing laws and policies in a respectful manner.

Student success and safety is a community effort. We need you, the members of the JJC community, to be our eyes and ears, to report incidents of a criminal or suspicious nature, and to keep us informed. Together, we can accomplish our mission.

Campus Communications

  • Emergency Communications

    Emergency messages will be sent when a situation poses an immediate risk to the health and safety of the campus community, disrupts programs and/or activities, or results in the closing of a campus, center or facility. Emergency messages will also be sent when severe weather results in the closing of campuses or centers and the cancellation of classes and activities.

    The college uses many methods of communication during an emergency to ensure that emergency messages reach as many people as possible:

  • Emergency Response Plan

    The Emergency Response Plan (ERP) has been designed to provide a contingency manual for Joliet Junior College staff in order to plan for possible campus emergencies. While the plan does not cover every conceivable situation, it does supply the basic guidelines necessary to cope with most campus emergencies.

    An Emergency Response Plan combined with occupant familiarity with a building, minimizes threats to life and property. This ERP is intended to communicate the policies and procedures for occupants to follow in an emergency situation.
